Bounce rate is the % of visitors who enter your site on a page, don't navigate to any other pages, then leave. So visitor leave without navigation more pages, so it is called bounce rate.

A bounce usually means that the visitor arrived on your site. There are two type of bounce rate low and high amongst which low is good indication of visitors towards your site. Low bounce indicates that the site is attracting the right kind of audience, and that visitors are exploring the site's content.

Bounce rate is the number of visitors who enter your site on a page, don't navigate to any other pages, then leave. High bounce rate is cases a bad thing, because it means your landing page is not having the desired effect - your visitors are not staying and doing whatever it is you want them to do.

Bounce rate is a term used in web site traffic analysis. It essentially represents the percentage of initial visitors to a site who "bounce" away to a different site, rather than continue on to other pages within the same site.

Bounce rate is a measure of the quality of the site as visitors point of view. So it's always good to have lower bounce rate as it says that the site of your quality is that much good.
