Google / Re: Is Google the Next Microsoft and Microsoft the Next Apple?
« on: February 25, 2010, 11:27:29 AM »
You can moan about the privacy with Google, but quite honestly, you shouldn't worry if you havn't got anything to hide really? I don't care if I get adverts on the things I like, or people know that I like these things.

As for Windows, I'm not sure, they have their good times, and their bad times, but I don't think they would ever turn into an Apple like company.

As for Google, they're just expanding, as they should, and they are a great company that works well with lots of good features on offer.

Uhh your life, people you talk to, files you send and receive, things you say, things you watch, your phone number, places you go to, things you've searched, your voice mails, your name, address, location, your history on the web... it's all vunerable and Google has it all indexed. And those adverts you see, were listed after Google scanned using keywords from the searches you made, videos seen, or wrote in your emails and they are stored on their server for a very long time. That is an invasion of privacy... I would like my data to be my data without anyone using it to earn revenue from it. No other company uses this method as much as Google does. It's like you're moving around and dropping breadcrumbs as you go, so the more you use Google, the more potential you have of indexing your entire life on Google's server. It's not a matter of having something to hide or not. They just love information, and apart from other companies they rely mostly on Advertisements to stay alive. So what does that tell you? Spam much? And yet people are blindly accepting that "Oh, it's Google... that's alright, I'll trust my information with them."

Web Directories / Re: Does google love Directory Submissions?
« on: June 23, 2009, 09:48:48 AM »
Directories have proven an important source for links. These links should ideally be optimized for the keywords that we want our site ranked for in the search engines. Usually directories allow the submission of just one page (generally home page), so the keywords have to be relevant to that page. Make sure that you have researched your keywords well and chosen those that are minimally competed for but adequately searched.

Pidgin is the king of IM clients.
Use it on both Win&Linux. Works flawless on both.

PTC's are close to the category, if not inside the category of scam sites. Paypal no longer accepts them b/c so many people have been scammed or wanted chargebacks to credit cards which costs them money and resources.

Execute this script in mac firefox. you will get the value required. Use that value in if statement.
suppose navigator.appName returns "Mac FireFox" than if statement should be
if(browser= "Mac FireFox"){// I dont have mac so i cant tell you exact value for mac firefox
// your code....

whats RIA ?  >:(

RIA is about making the web experience like desktop experience.pages with no post back that we already can do this with ajax.with silverlight and flex and some other utilities we can even build more interactive web pages.
but i'm wondering which one is more powerfull.
I'm currently working on silverlight but i'm concerned that maybe flex and adobe is better in this field than microsoft.

im currently using silverlight and it works for me..dont really know much of what it does but since then, my connection speed speed up..

it's not the connection of yours that speed up is the nature of RIA it only brings you what you need and you feel more faster.but other non-RIA pages load everything and useless things.

As you know these two both bring RIA(rich internet application) to the web.
but i want to choose one to continue with?
which one you suggest?
Please suggest if you really know something/
thanks  ;)
