I have an account on Twitter, but I only opened twice. I use no more than Twitter. So far, I still can not understand this social networking community media called Twitter. Have a twitter account and been using it for a year. Have used it sometimes to advertise my sites but it usually floods my account so I stopped it. Although effective I find it quite sometimes boring to use because unless you follow someone or be followed someone it is useless to use it.

Twitter provides Nofollow link. Google crawls the twitter frequently .

yes i use twitter almost every day , its create interaction between various users, you can share emotions with your unknowns friends or strangers or the followers , i create network with many new people i want to know many new thimgs , their ideas , their point of views

At this point, you can't afford not to use it if you want to have a professional web presence. However, I'm not sure it's making that big a difference in my particular situation...
