If your site is new then you have to 1st submit your site in search engine site.after your site got indexed by google bot you can start offpage submissions like bookmarking,directories,Forums,commenting,articles,blogs etc.contents are known as the king of the SEO so post more and more content to get better rank.and make you onpages site changes and try to make your site SEO friendly to get more benefit.
