A contextual backlink is a backlink that is in an editorial context within an article. The notion of contextual backlink opposes that of a structural backlink also called backlink sidewide . A contextual backlink is usually a dofollow link and it is also attributed more value by Google in the context of SEO netlinking than a link at the bottom of the page that it is " sidewide " or not.
