ASP is not a programming language. You have probably heard the word ASP.net fairly often these days, especially on developer sites and news. This article will explain what the fuss is all about. ASP.NET is not just the next version of ASP; it is the next era of web development. ASP.NET allows you to use a full featured programming language

Java is platform independent, free, open source and much more ..micro$oft trying to do something like java they produced the .net which is very weak ..

Well although the .net IDE is pretty good but this doesn't implies the compiled software is stable even though !
java is the best portable language .. [ standard c++ is the best of course but more difficult a bit ]

.NET is an environment that was twisted as well as is mainly support by Microsoft. Many parts of the systems are ISO standards as well as independent implementations are attractive available. Java is an situation that was created by Sun, who is now element of Oracle. It materialize Oracle wish to preserve tight control of Java as well as have not unconfined any of the IP to standards.

It depend on you which language you prefer for your application. I suggest .net for making robust application with user friendly environment. Microsoft has developed a full package for websites developing.

I think the JAVA is very hard and also most used for the iPhone and Android apps. and the .NET is easy than the JAVA and mostly used for the Web Development.

Agree with victory08, yes it depends on which subject you like to make the application.

E.g. For network related application java is best and for simple web application .net is cheap and great.
