webpro:
Can anybody describe me what is the different between jQuery and java script.

savniambekar:
JavaScript
JavaScript is a high-level, dynamic, weakly typed, prototype-based, multi-paradigm, and interpreted programming language. It is commonly used as a part of web pages, whose implementations allow client-side script to interact with the user and make dynamic pages. It is an interpreted programming language with object-oriented capabilities.

jQuery
jQuery is a JavaScript library designed to simplify the scripting of HTML. It is free and open-source. The purpose of jQuery is to make it much easier to use JavaScript on your website. jQuery takes a lot of common tasks that require many lines of JavaScript code to accomplish, and wraps them into methods that you can call with a single line of code. jQuery also simplifies a lot of the complicated things from JavaScript, like AJAX calls and DOM manipulation.

JustinC:
The main difference among the three is that JavaScript is client-side, i.e., in the browser scripting language, whereas jQuery is a library (or framework) built with JavaScript. Meanwhile, AJAX is a method to immediately update parts of the UI without reloading the web pages.

Itís a way to talk to the server in the background; JavaScript is a language the browser makes sense of. At the same time, jQuery is a JavaScript framework that makes life easier for people who want to program for the browser.
