Can't you code in Windows? Correct me if Im wrong but maybe(just maybe), what you can do in Linux can also be done in Windows, but not everything in Windows can be done in Linux. ( A lot of software is not available in Linux ie: Games)

Computer Forum / Re: What Windows 7 has that Windows XP doesn't have?
« on: September 07, 2009, 03:26:46 AM »
something is wrong with people that believe that Windows 7 is faster...
It's normal to be faster on a high-end machine like cainy1989 and okz .
So another question is which is the minimum of RAM memory that Windows 7 requests to install ?

So the logic of Windows 7 is :
high-end PC = faster Windows 7
low-mid-end PC = SLOW Windows 7

In the case of Windows XP :
high-end PC = faster Windows XP
low-mid-end PC = fast Windows XP.

Microsoft / Re: Linux or Windows?
« on: June 17, 2009, 03:09:50 AM »
You don't need any programming experience.
Most distro's come with a GUI (graphical user interface), so most things you will ever need to do on a daily basis (for normal users) can be done without knowing any terminal commands.

if you want to program with it pearl, python, C and C++ are some good languages.

i think these are the best distro's to try out:
- ubuntu

- linux-mint

- opensuse

I don't have windows so i don't dual boot with windows :)

Web Directories / Re: Deep Link Directory
« on: November 26, 2008, 09:06:06 AM »
First what is "Deep Link" From an external source

A hyperlink either on a Web page or in the results of a search engine query to a page on a Web site other than the site’s home page. Typically, a Web site’s home page is the top page in the site’s hierarchy, and any page other than that is considered “deep.”

For example, if a Web site linked to the Webopedia page, this would be considered a deep link because the site linked to one of Webopedia’s pages other than its home page,

Some in the industry have opposed the proliferation of deep links as they drive users away from a site’s home page where there are advertisers paying for space based on page views.

So a directory allow you submit deep link (other than home page of your site) is called "deep link directory".

« on: November 06, 2008, 04:36:00 AM »
Hello; I just wrote a script that needs to know what the referring page is but "$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']" does not seem to be working. Is there a way around this?

Free Stuff / Adobe launches free online Photoshop
« on: May 21, 2008, 10:26:47 AM »
Adobe has released its Photoshop Express web-based imaging application as a public beta. Photoshop Express uses much of Adobe’s image editing technology and has been repurposed as a web-based application. Users can store up to 2GB of images online for free, make edits to their photos and share them online. Photoshop Express also allows users to download and upload photos from popular social networking sites like Facebook. The application provides ’standard edits’, such as removing blemishes and red-eye, converting to black and white, cropping and resizing.
