Hi... Good topic...........thanks for posting.........In today's design world, a computer is essential. It will be both your design tool and your business tool. Using graphics software (discussed next), you will create illustrations, work with type, touch-up photos and complete layouts. The major decision here is what computer to get, and this generally starts with deciding between a Mac and PC.

Find the best graphics software for your needs with these articles, reviews, and tips. Includes graphics software product listings by category, and articles explaining the most common types of graphic software.

Confused about where to start? Most non-professionals just need a bitmap-based image editor which is an all-purpose tool for creating and editing digital photos, scanned images, and continous-tone graphics. See the Image Editors sub-category for this type of software.

CorelDraw, Photoshop, and GIMP are the best tools for graphic design.
I have used all three of them and they show better capabilities than the other ones in the market.

I use them concurrently. Adobe Illustrator is best for vector graphics, designing logos mostly. Photoshop is best for editing.
